The Art Foundry At New Village Arts

Overview

New Village Arts, already known as the artistic heart of the Carlsbad Village for its risk taking, award-winning professional theatre, has expanded its cultural influence by opening The Foundry as a space for working artists.

The Art Foundry will house a dozen on-site artists creating and displaying their work in private, individual work studios ranging from large spaces suitable for sculpture, pottery, textiles, glass art and painters working on very large canvases, to cozy hideaways ideal for watercolorists and jewelers. In addition to the studio artists' areas, locker spaces will be available so that additional artists can store their materials and make use of the common workspaces in the studio, move out to the sidewalk, or even take their work down to the beach - whatever inspires them that day.

The public is welcome to wander through the foundry at any time and interact with the Resident artists, see the progress each artist is making on their work or even purchase an original work of art created on site.
